ITS Beach, Santa Cruz California, Dog Friendly
Its Beach is the common name used by locals for the main beach at Lighthouse Field State Beach, which is across from Lighthouse Field and, strangely enough, next to a lighthouse. Dogs off leash are permitted and the beach is known for its great waves, which break both on the beach and farther out. ITS is on West Cliff Drive, just north of the Lighthouse, and south of Columbia Street. There is limited parking

It is not currently legal to have your dogs off leash on the beach or Lighthouse Field. Friends of Lighthouse Field has their "non-event," where many people go down to the beach and let their *friendly* dogs off leash anyway, Saturdays from 8:30-10:00.
